Magnussen fit to race subject to FIA approval

Kevin Magnussen has been cleared to travel to Monza after undergoing more medical tests in the wake of his spectacular high-speed accident at the Belgian Grand Prix, though he still requires final FIA approval to race. The Dane lost control of his Renault RS16 at the top of Eau Rouge on lap six of the Spa-Francorchamps race and impacted the barriers hard, leaving him with an injured ankle. Taken to local hospital, Magnussen was diagnosed with a cut to the ankle, with further checks in his native Denmark revealing no more significant injuries.
