Lewis Hamilton wins Belgian GP Driver of the Day award

Lewis Hamilton has won the Driver of the Day award for the Belgian Grand Prix after a vote by Formula 1 fans. The British driver started the race at Spa-Francorchamps in 21st place due to a 60-place grid penalty for power unit component changes. He benefitted from the first lap incidents to move up the order and found himself in the top five when the race was red flagged for Kevin Magnussen’s huge crash. Mercedes put Hamilton on a more aggressive three-stop strategy, which helped him gain several positions and move into a podium position.
