Rosberg on pole, Lewis at back

Nico Rosberg has claimed pole position for the Belgian GP to start 20 places ahead of Mercedes team-mate and title rival Lewis Hamilton. The German beat Spa fans' favourite Max Verstappen by a tenth to secure his third successive pole. But the Dutchman, born 50 miles away from the iconic Spa circuit, will become the youngest-ever driver to start an F1 race from the front row. After rolling the strategic dice in Q2, Rosberg, Ricciardo, Vettel and Raikkonen will be able to start the race on soft tyres - expected to be the preferred Sunday tyre of choice with the supersofts rapidly losing performance amid the unexpectedly hot conditions in the Ardennes this weekend.
