Ocon surprised by Formula 1 race chance
– Esteban Ocon has admitted that the opportunity to compete for Manor from the Belgian Grand Prix onwards came as a surprise, but insists he "feels ready" to take to the grid.Ocon, 19, joins fellow Mercedes-backed Pascal Wehrlein at Manor, replacing Rio Haryanto, whose deal with the team was terminated after he failed to meet contractual obligations.Ocon has tested for both Mercedes and Renault this year, driving the F1 W07 Hybrid at the in-season session at Silverstone, along with four FP1 runs and a test day in the RS16.Asked if he expected his Formula 1 debut to come so soon, Ocon said: "No, not at all.
