Chris Amon passes away at age of 73

– Ex-Formula 1 driver Chris Amon has passed away in his native New Zealand at the age of 73.Amon, who competed in Formula 1 between 1963 and 1976, representing over 10 teams, had been suffering from cancer, and died at the Rotorua Hospital on Wednesday, his family confirmed in a statement.Amon made his debut with Reg Parnell Racing at the 1963 Monaco Grand Prix and, despite a challenging season, remained with the team, scoring his first points at the Dutch Grand Prix the following year.Ferrari gave Amon his big break in 1967, after he partnered compatriot Bruce McLaren to victory at Le Mans, and he took his first podium in Monaco, overshadowed by team-mate Lorenzo Bandini's...
