Disappointment for Renault after early qualifying exit

Hungarian Grand Prix – Renault were disappointed to have both cars out in Q1 in Hungary after showing flashes of speed in practice. Both cars were in the top twelve in FP3, highlighting the progress the team has made in recent weeks. But the weather turned against Renault in qualifying when the rain came down. Jolyon Palmer’s final lap in Q1 was interrupted by a red flag for Rio Haryanto who went off at Turn 10 and hit the tyre barriers, leaving the Briton just 17th. “P10 was great; unfortunately that came in FP3 not qualifying!
