Alonso forced to change engines before FP2
Fernando Alonso has been forced to swap Honda engines ahead of second free practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix after a problem in the morning session. Analysis of Alonso's power unit from first practice highlighted a potential problem, and a decision was taken to revert him to a previous engine. The engine he will use is the one last used at the Austrian Grand Prix, which also made appearances in Monaco, Canada and Baku. However, it does feature the upgrades that have been made to the Energy Recovery System and Internal Combustion Engine in recent events, so there will be no cost in terms of performance. As no new components have been introduced, there is no penalty for the change.
