Ocon: My target is to be in Formula 1 next year
Esteban Ocon impressed during two days of cockpit duty in the world championship pacve setting Mercedes W07 during the Silverstone test this week and is keen to secure a Formula 1 drive in 2017. Nineteen year old Ocon is currently Renault's reserve driver as well as a Mercedes DTM race driver. He is contracted to Mercedes, but with Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg all but confirmed for next season and Pascal Wehrlein next in line, the young Frenchman is being linked to a race seat with Renault. When asked by N about his future plans beyond 2016, he replied smartly, 'I don't know, the boss will decide what they want there in Renault.
