Bite-size tech: Red Bull RB12 modular brake duct inlet

Red Bull has adopted a modular design for its brake duct inlet, which allows the team to make quick changes to the inlets size, in order to trim how much cold air is passed to the brakes. A blanking cover has been 3D printed on site and sits in the upper right corner of the inlet in the image above as the team was trying to understand the cooling demand at the circuit. This is of particular importance when the weather conditions change, especially if a change occurs between qualifying and the race as alterations can be made outside of parc ferme conditions.
