Marchionne: F1 needs more freedom for experimentation
Ferrari big boss Sergio Marchionne wants Formula 1 to be the laboratory where engineers can explore cutting edge technologies for the motoring industry and thus rules must open up to accommodate experimentation. Speaking at the FIA Sport Conference in Turin, Marchionne stressed, “The success and strength of Ferrari has always been closely linked to the world of Formula 1 and racing has always been the laboratory where the leading edge, innovative technologies for its street cars are developed.' “The character and potential of Ferrari is constantly tested on the track.
