Hamilton handed replacement tyre for Baku race

European Grand Prix – Lewis Hamilton has been granted permission to swap a flat-spotted tyre for today's European Grand Prix. The reigning world champion has been permitted to swap a super-soft tyre with one that has completed similar mileage for the start of the race. Lewis Hamilton struggled to progress into the third and final part of qualifying yesterday after making a couple of errors. He managed to put his Mercedes into Q3, but one of his tyres was badly flat-spotted in the process. As part of the 2016 regulations, drivers who make it into Q3 must start the race on the tyres they used to set their best time in Q2.
