Hamilton allowed to exchange F1 tyre set for Baku race (Images Credit – Getty Images/Mercedes AMG) Lewis Hamilton will be allowed to exchange his tyres with the same mileage to the ones he damaged in European Grand Prix qualifying for Sunday's race. The Brit flat-spotted the front tyres on which he set his fastest time in Q2. Under Formula 1 regulations any drivers who reach Q3 are required to start the race on the tyres they used to set their fastest time in Q2 Today morning Pirelli has confirmed Hamilton will be allowed to exchange his tyres and Mercedes clarified that the front left would be replaced for a different one.
