Ecclestone says Imola deal could happen
Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone says the final decision on a potential switch of Italian Grand Prix venue from Monza to Imola now lies with the country's national sporting authority. With Monza still having failed to sort out a contract to extend its deal to host its home race beyond the end of this year, Ecclestone has opened discussions with Imola about it hosting the Italian GP. And although he has played down speculation that Imola already has an outline contract in place for 2017, Ecclestone said in Baku on Saturday that the situation remained very fluid, and that it was really down to the Automobile Club of Italy to decide what happens.
