Sainz handed Canadian Grand Prix gearbox penalty

Carlos Sainz Jr will drop five places on the grid for the Canadian Grand Prix after his Scuderia Toro Rosso team changed the gearbox on his STR11. The Spaniard had been set to start from fifteenth on the grid following a crash into the wall of champions during the qualifying session, but will now lose five additional spots on the grid after the gearbox change. All Formula 1 Drivers are required to run the same gearbox for six consecutive races, and as Sainz has not fulfilled this criteria, this has meant that the Spaniard was forced to take a penalty. He becomes the second Toro Rosso driver to take a penalty this weekend, with Daniil Kvyat having arrived at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve...
