Surprised Magnussen says FP3 crash was "weird"
Kevin Magnussen has labelled the crash in final free practice for the Canadian Grand Prix that put him out of qualifying as 'weird'. The Dane hit the wall on an out-lap at Turn 7 in the final minutes of FP3. And although the impact was at fairly low speed, the damage was significant enough to be unfixable before qualifying and require a new Renault chassis to be built up before the race. Speaking about what happened, Magnussen suspected that cold tyres had probably been the catalyst for the incident, but said it was still his responsibility not to get it wrong and crash.
