Pascal Wehrlein: “Qualifying was just a mess”
Pascal Wehrlein was left to rue the red flags during qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix after twice being on new tyres when the session was stopped. With fewer Ultrasoft Pirelli tyres than all the other teams on the grid, Manor Racing were hoping to maximise what they had in qualifying, but the stoppages ended any realistic chance of upsetting the form book, with Wehrlein ultimately qualifying twentieth on the grid, just behind team-mate Rio Haryanto. Wehrlein is still excited for his first Monaco Grand Prix, and knows from the circuits history that anything can happen, and will be looking to be in position to take any opportunity that is presented to him.
