Ricciardo delighted with pole at ‘special' Monaco

Monaco Grand Prix – Daniel Ricciardo was pleased to convert Red Bull Racing's free practice pace into pole position for this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix. The Australian took the first Formula One pole position of his career around the streets of Monaco by just under two tenths of a second from Mercedes' Nico Rosberg. The result means that Red Bull Racing have secured their first pole position of the V6-turbo era. Speaking after the qualifying session, Ricciardo admitted that he thought he was in with a chance of pole position this weekend and was pleased to have taken the opportunity.
