Bite-size tech: Force India VJM09 floor

The floor ahead of the rear tyre is under heavy scrutiny in Monaco but, with Force India having introduced a new solution in Barcelona, it is somewhat surprising to see it attempt another go at it so soon. The two elongated L-shaped slots used in Barcelona make way for 15 small slots, changing the way in which the airflow is shaped around the rear tyre. These slots intend on disturbing the effects of tyre squirt on the diffuser, with the tyre ordinarily squirting flow laterally into the diffuser's path when they deform.   Sahara Force India F1 VJM09 detail Photo by: Giorgio Piola
