Whiting: Baku on schedule for Azerbaijan's first F1 race

 XPB Images Formula One race director Charlie Whiting is confident the Baku City Circuit (BCC) will be completed in time to host this year’s European Grand Prix. Azerbaijan’s inaugural Formula One race is scheduled to take place on June 17-19 – the same weekend at the Le Mans 24 Hours, with leading circuit designer Hermann Tilke promising “the world’s fastest street circuit”. After his latest inspection, Whiting was satisfied with the progress he saw on site. “The Circuit will be ready,” Whiting is quoted as saying by GPUpdate.net. “You can see the quality of all the installations wherever you look.
