Kvyat, Verstappen to use each other’s tyre choices in Spain

Following their team swap ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix, Pirelli have announced that both Daniil Kvyat and Max Verstappen will have to race with the tyres the other driver chose this weekend at the Circuit de Catalunya. Pirelli have stated that tyres are car specific, not driver specific, meaning Verstappen will have to run with the tyres initially designated for Kvyat, and vice-versa. This means Verstappen will have to contend with two sets of Pirelli’s Hard compound, four Medium sets and seven Soft sets, while Kvyat will have one set of Hard tyres, six sets of Medium and six sets of soft tyres.
