Pirelli begins 2017 tyre testing at Fiorano

– Pirelli has commenced its 2017 tyre testing programme with Ferrari's Jean-Éric Vergne behind the wheel of the F14-T, the outfit's 2014 car, at Fiorano on Tuesday.Pirelli has been Formula 1's sole tyre supplier since 2011 and will continue in the role until at least 2019 after signing a new three-year contract.Last month, the FIA's World Motor Sport Council gave Pirelli the green light to carry out extra testing, which included sampling 2017 prototype tyres on 2013 or 2014 Formula 1 cars."Pirelli is testing today at Fiorano circuit with Ferrari," the company confirmed."The tyres are the 2016 size and contain a number of prototype elements as we start developing...
