Manor and Marussia in legal tussle
A new legal battle has just emerged, after 2015 Formula 1 competitors, Manor Racing infringed Marussia's legal trademark, the Autosport report. A legal document shows that Marussia authorized Manor Racing to use the name ‘Marussia', however that license came to an end on December 31st, 2014. It is understood Manor continued to use the name ‘Marussia' on its team and chassis for the 2015 Formula 1 season, with the reason being that Manor Racing would need to obtain prior consent from F1's commercial rights holder, else it would lose the price money entitlement from previous Formula 1 seasons.
