Wet weather hits F1 qualifying day in China

Formula 1's qualifying day for the Chinese Grand Prix is set to be overshadowed by poor weather, after expected storms hit the Shanghai track on Saturday morning. Weather forecasts in the build-up to the weekend had suggested a weather front would blow through today – and the storms duly arrived. Track conditions are not likely to be bad enough to prevent running totally, but they could well throw up some extra challenges for teams as F1 reverts to its old qualifying system for the first time this season. Although the FIA allowed final practice to begin as scheduled at midday local time, no drivers took to the track in the early minutes with lots of standing water around the circuit. Lost...
