Rosberg fastest under floodlights in Bahrain second practice

Nico Rosberg set the pace for Mercedes in second practice for the Bahrain Grand Prix, which took place on Friday evening under dark skies and bright floodlights. The German set the pace on the soft tyre, before putting in a 1:31.001 on the super-soft Pirelli compound mid-way through the session. The time proved to be unbeatable and he ended FP2 quickest. Lewis Hamilton was second at the Bahrain International Circuit, finishing two tenths behind his Mercedes team-mate. Jenson Button surprised many by jumping up to third on his super-soft qualifying run. Max Verstappen was fourth quickest, 1.4 seconds behind Rosberg’s benchmark, and Kimi Raikkonen was fifth.
