Alonso will need full new power unit for Bahrain

Fernando Alonso will use his second engine of the season in the Bahrain Grand Prix following his accident in Australia, Honda has confirmed. The Spaniard's McLaren was destroyed in his crash with Esteban Gutierrez during the season-opening race. Alonso was already set to have a new engine for Bahrain, but Honda was still investigating to see what parts could be salvaged. The Japanese manufacturer however confirmed on Tuesday that Alonso will need a complete power unit for the second race of the season.
