Ferrari releases audio of new F1 car fire-up

Ferrari has given fans a first hint about how the sound of Formula 1's new engines may differ in 2016, after releasing audio of its new car fire-up from earlier this week. As Motorsport.com revealed, Ferrari completed assembly and power up of its new car, codenamed the 667, at its Maranello factory on Tuesday. On Thursday, the team released a short audio clip of the engine being brought to life, even though it was not revved high at all. However, with new exhaust regulations being introduced this year to improve the sound of the power units, the throatier sound has offered some hope that F1 cars will be louder this season.
