Mercedes sure of louder cars in 2016
Mercedes AMG Petronas Mercedes technical guru Paddy Lowe says Formula 1 cars will be louder in 2016 following a change to the technical regulations. The level of noise produced by a Formula 1 car has been a primary talking point since 1.6 litre V6 power units were introduced at the start of the 2014 campaign. Under revised 2016 regulations two exhaust tailpipe exits must be used and Lowe is confident that the tweaks will have a positive impact. "We'll see how much louder, but some measurements have been made in the labs and they have seen a significant increase," Lowe explained in a video produced by Mercedes.
