Villeneuve: F1 needs to be 'stupid, crazy'
– Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 Formula 1 World Champion, says that the sport needs to feature "stupid and crazy" elements if it is to recover its popularity amongst fans.Formula 1's bosses last year outlined plans for a regulation overhaul, aimed at increasing the speed of cars by four-five seconds per lap, with talks continuing over the exact details.Villeneuve, who still works in Formula 1 as a television pundit, reckons Formula 1 made mistakes with recent rule changes, and in turn moved too far away from its roots."Formula 1 tries to be everything, and that's wrong," Villeneuve told CNN."It tries to be an endurance car, it's some form of hybrid... and...
