Sepang circuit to close for upgrading work

The home of the Malaysian Formula 1 and MotoGP races will close between 15 February and 8 May 2016 to enable resurfacing and upgrading work to be completed. In order to maintain its FIA Grade 1 and FIM Grade A ratings, the whole of the 5.54km Sepang International Circuit will be resurfaced in order to continue to meet international standards, although the actual layout will remain the same. The drainage system around the track will be repaired and upgraded, as well as the kerbing and run-off area tarmac, while the gravel beds at turns one and fifteen will also be rebuilt. “The last 5 years have seen an average 98% usage of the track’s availability throughout the year, from large...
