Cosworth will not apply for Alternative Engine tender

The FIA’s intentions to bring in an alternative engine to Formula 1 are not in the plans of Cosworth Engineering due to the costs that would be involved in developing an engine. Cosworth, with a rich history within the sport, would need to start from scratch as it does not current have an engine that could be adapted to be used in the V6 era of Formula 1, with Cosworth co-owner Kevin Kalkhoven insisting the costs involved would not be justifiable.
