Red Bull close to engine announcement
– Red Bull is closing in on an announcement regarding its engine plans for 2016, with a decision set to be communicated by next weekend's Abu Dhabi season finale, according to Daniel Ricciardo.Red Bull initially stated mid-season that it would be splitting from current partner Renault a year earlier than planned, with the French manufacturer struggling for reliability and performance.However, both Mercedes and Ferrari ruled themselves out of potential supply deals after discussions, while McLaren boss Ron Dennis used a veto to prevent Honda from stepping in.It has been suggested that the Red Bull/Renault relationship could now continue into 2016, in the form of an unbranded engine,...
