Alonso complains of “strange” power delivery issue

Fernando Alonso says his McLaren’s Honda engine was behaving “strange” but was happy to finish Sunday’s Brazilian Grand Prix after his qualifying disaster on Saturday. Alonso reported an unusual power delivery in the race, which he finished behind teammate Jenson Button in 16th. “Finishing the race was the first priority after some retirements,” said Alonso. “Unfortunately the car was not working 100 percent from the beginning with different power in different gears, so it was a little bit strange to drive sometimes, but hopefully we take some data for next year especially. “Obviously we fitted a new engine and we didn’t have any laps to setup the engine.
