Ricciardo sees ‘no benefit' in new Renault engine

Red Bull Racing's Daniel Ricciardo believes that there has been little gained from the new Renault engine after being out-qualified by his team-mate, who is running the older specification engine. Ricciardo received a ten-place grid penalty after it was confirmed that Red Bull would run the latest specification engine following Renault's decision to use some of the available engine ‘tokens' to develop their power unit. However, Ricciardo remains unconvinced about the decision to change engine. Qualifying saw the Australian beaten by his team-mate Daniil Kvyat by around one tenth of second.
