Verstappen tops first practice in Mexico

Toro Rosso teenager Max Verstappen topped the first practice at the Mexican Grand Prix, Formula One's first official laps at the revamped Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez since 1992. The rookie who turned 18 in September and only recently earned his Dutch driver's license put in the best lap at 1 minute, 25.990 seconds. Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat was second and Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen was third. Mexico's Sergio Perez of Force India was ninth. All the drivers are facing an unfamiliar course, which was altered and resurfaced in order to host the race.
