Alonso confident of large McLaren gains

McLaren Honda Fernando Alonso is confident that McLaren will be able to make substantial progress across the winter period as the outfit bids to close the gap on Mercedes. McLaren has endured a troublesome reunion with Honda in 2015, amid a lack of energy deployment from the power unit which has limited the squad's prospects this season. McLaren has scored only 27 points in 2015 and sits a distant ninth in the Constructors' Championship, but Alonso is sure of progress into 2016. "I think the lack of performance we have in some areas of the car are quite fundamental issues that should have a not too difficult answer, let’s a say, or not too difficult a solution," he explained....
