Alonso: US GP one of the best races of my career
Fernando Alonso says the United States Grand Prix was one of 'the best races' of his career, despite finishing in 11th place. The Spaniard ran as high as fifth at the Circuit of the Americas, but an engine issue meant he lost power late in the race, which caused him to drop down the field. He eventually lost the final point to Daniel Ricciardo on the last lap. 'This was one of the best races of my career,' he admitted after the US GP. 'To be running one minute behind the penultimate car on lap two, and then be running as high as fifth position with 10 laps remaining was quite a feat.
