Bottas picks up grid penalty for gearbox change
Valtteri Bottas has been handed a grid penalty for the United States Grand Prix after Williams changed his gearbox. The Finnish driver was 12th fastest in Q2, which decided the grid order after Q3 was cancelled due to heavy rain. He was set to start the race at the Circuit of the Americas from 10th thanks to engine change grid penalties for Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen. However, he suffered a suspension problem in qualifying and fixing it has resulted in a gearbox change as well. 'I had a rear suspension failure at the end of Q2,' Bottas told reporters at COTA.
