Lotus confirms Palmer for 2016

Lotus F1 Team Lotus has confirmed that Jolyon Palmer will make his Formula 1 debut in 2016, replacing Haas-bound Romain Grosjean alongside Pastor Maldonado. Palmer won the GP2 title in 2014 and has occupied the position of test and reserve driver at the Enstone outfit this year, taking part in 10 Friday practice sessions and numerous tests in the E23 Hybrid. "I’m obviously delighted that I’ll be racing in Formula 1 next year," he said. "Lotus gave me a tremendous opportunity this season and I thank them for assisting my development to a level where they have put their trust in me for a crucial season in their evolution.
