Ron Dennis confirms Button and Alonso staying at McLaren in 2016

Ron Dennis seemingly confirmed that Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso will be staying at McLaren for the 2016 season. There were doubts over whether or not Button would retire from the sport and Alonso seemed increasingly frustrated at McLaren-Honda’s current pace. But during an interview with Sky Sports F1, he confirmed that McLaren will uphold all contractual agreements and will be retaining the two. An official announcement from the team has yet to be released. It’s no secret that McLaren-Honda has had a difficult year, with the Honda engine severely underpowered compared to its Mercedes and Ferrari rivals.
