Verstappen cops three place grid penalty

Red Bull/Getty Images Toro Rosso driver Max Verstappen has been given a three place grid penalty after he stopped his car in a dangerous position during qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix. Verstappen suffered a loss of power in his STR10 but rather than pull to the inside of the track, he parked on the outside of the corner, compromising several of his rivals. "Car 33 [Verstappen] experienced a sudden power loss at the exit of Turn 11, the driver initially moved to the left side of the track towards a safe position and when it was about to stop, moved to the right onto the racing line, where it eventually stopped," read a statement from the Stewards.
