'Something special to lead FP1' – Sainz Jr.
– Toro Rosso rookie Carlos Sainz Jr. says it was "something special" to lead a Formula 1 session for the first time during practice in Japan.Sainz Jr. set the standard in Friday morning's wet opening session at Suzuka, outpacing Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat by half a second.He ended the day seventh on the combined timesheets, dropping behind the Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari machines in the afternoon."Overall it was a good day and there's a lot of positives," said Sainz Jr."Even though it's been raining all day and we haven't been able to complete any laps in dry conditions, I managed to learn the track quickly and showed some good pace."To finish FP1...
