Late payments leave Lotus out in the rain
The extent of Lotus' financial concerns was laid bare once again when a late payment to the Suzuka race circuit meant it couldn't set up its hospitality unit until Thursday afternoon and freight – including engines – was delayed. The team competed in Singapore without a number of items involved with running its hospitality unit, but a late payment – which the team says was down to its processing in different time zones – left the team waiting to get the go ahead and set up in Japan. Furthermore, the freight containing its engines was also held up as the payments were processed, but the cars are at the circuit and the team insists there is no concern about the drivers getting out...
