Button disappointed to miss out on Alonso fight

Jenson Button says he was disappointed to miss out on a close fight in the final laps of the Italian Grand Prix with McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso. The Englishman had a strong start and moved into the top 10, but was unable to keep rival drivers behind him thanks to the McLaren Honda’s lack of straight line speed. The Woking-based outfit’s drivers were on different tyres for the final stint, with Alonso rapidly closing in on Button.
