Hamilton cleared after tyre pressure probe

Lewis Hamilton’s completely dominant victory at the Italian Grand prix on Sunday was in doubt after his Mercedes failed to pass a technical inspection, but stewards decided against issuing a penalty. Hamilton’s car was found to have breached the tyre pressure rule – his left-hand rear tyre had a slightly lower than legal pressure. Rosberg had a similar issue, but he failed to finish the race anyway after his car lit up in flames. Mercedes were summoned to the race stewards’ office to explain and the steward agreed to let it go.
