Pirelli to run Soft & Medium compounds despite Spa issues
Italian Grand Prix – Pirelli, ahead of their home Grand Prix, have chosen to run the same tyre compounds at the high speed Monza circuit. This means the company are sticking to their original tyre choices despite the issues suffered at Spa-Francorchamps last time out. The Belgian Grand Prix was marred by two high profile tyre failures. On Friday afternoon, Nico Rosberg suffered a tyre failure on entry into the Blanchimont corner and was lucky to escape without hitting anything – something he attributed to 'pure luck'.
