Renault apologises after Sainz DNF

Renault has apologised to Carlos Sainz and Toro Rosso after a relatively minor issue forced him out of his fourth F1 race in succession during the Belgian Grand Prix. The Spaniard had qualified in tenth position but a loss of power on the formation lap forced him to pit for checks, with mechanics tracing the issue to a loose connector in the engine. Though quickly fixed, Sainz was nonetheless left two laps down and in an effort to save mileage on the Renault power unit, opted to withdraw from the race.
