Whiting believes closed cockpits will happen

Formula One's race director Charlie Whiting is convinced that closed cockpits will be introduced to the sport at some point, revealing details of additional tests scheduled for later this month. The topic of additional head protection for racing drivers has resurfaced following the death of IndyCar and ex-Formula One driver Justin Wilson earlier this week. The Briton was struck by debris from a crashed car during the ABC Supply 500 at the Pocono Raceway. Other high profile examples include Jules Bianchi's crash at Suzuka last year, Henry Surtees losing his life after a collision with a loose wheel during a Formula Two race at Brands Hatch in 2009 and Felipe Massa being injured by debris...
