Former F1 driver Justin Wilson critically injured in Indycar smash

Former Formula 1 driver Justin Wilson has been critically injured in a Indycar crash in the USA. The former F1 racer was struck on the head by debris following a crash ahead of him at the Pocono Raceway in Pennysylvania. Sage Karam crashed out of the race on Lap 179, spraying debris all over the track. Some of this debris appeared to strike Wilson's helmet as he passed by. The medical team was quickly at the scene and Wilson was extracted from his car. He was airlifted from the circuit to Lehigh Valley Health Network Cedar Crest Hospital, where he is understood to be in a critical condition.
