McLaren-Honda success took 'five years'

– Ex-Formula 1 driver Stefan Johansson says it took Honda five years of hard graft before it enjoyed its previous "golden era" of success with McLaren in the 1980s and 1990s.McLaren and Honda reunited for the 2015 campaign, having claimed eight world titles together during their initial partnership between the 1988 and 1992 seasons.Amid a challenging start, with Honda's engine proving unreliable and lacking in performance, questions have been raised over whether they will reach the same heights.But Johansson has offered a reminder that success was not instant when the Japanese firm returned to the sport in 1983 as an engine supplier to Spirit – for which he drove."At...
