Hamilton fastest again but Rosberg closes in

Lewis Hamilton has maintained his place at the top of timesheets ahead of qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix, albeit by less than a hundredth from team-mate Nico Rosberg. With Hamilton commanding a substantial margin over the opposition in FP1 and FP2 as his title rival struggled with balance on his car, Rosberg proved considerably more competitive on the soft rubber in FP3 to get within a hundredth of his team-mate. Even so, it was still Hamilton that led the way with a 1min 22.997secs lap, the fastest time of the weekend thus far, with Mercedes establishing its advantage over the opposition to a mammoth eight tenths.
